JEAN RUSSAK
Jean teaches piano to students of all ages and abilities.
She also coaches vocal and chamber music repertoire and is currently accepting new students.
Jean has played many roles in the world of music --piano teacher, vocal and chamber music coach, concert pianist,
and musical director of operas and musical comedies. Jean earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin and a Master
of Music degree from the University of Illinois . Her teachers include Harold Bauer, Soulima Stravinsky, Nadia
Reisenberg and David Leighton. Among her many accomplishments, Jean provided music direction for the NY production
of “The Fantasticks,” and played for the Amato Opera Theatre for many years.
Her resume also includes many projects and classes with her husband, Gerard. Jean is a compassionate and knowledgeable
teacher, whose velvet touch is not only informed by her impeccable instinct for the best way to help each individual
student learn, but is guided by many years of action and interaction with her students of all ages and levels of
ability -- beginners to professional.
